At Scurlock Systems we use only the best components in our computer systems, and one of those components is the hard drive. We use Western Digital Caviar Black hard drives, and while they cost a bit more than other hard drives, they are rugged drives that last, with outstanding performance. Due to the recent flooding in Thailand, Western Digital (and other) hard drive manufacturers lost many factories and production was suspended. The current market prices for the drives have gone up 100% as of today (October 27, 2011). We will continue to utilize Western Digital Black drives, and current expectation is that prices will normalize sometime in the 1st quarter of 2012. Please note that the prices listed below do not reflect the increase in hard drive cost. Contact our office at 972.633.1111 for current pricing. We will be selling the drives AT COST.
